Frequently Asked Questions
How does pipebursting work?
Rather than digging a large trench and going down to the pipe and replacing it, we cut a small hole next to your house and use our machinery to pull a new flexible pipe through the existing pipe. As it is pulled through, your old pipe is broken apart. The new pipe will not break or be compromised by tree roots.
Orangeburg pipe is a material that was used from the 1950’s until the early 1970’s. It is relatively weak and can break easily as it is made from tar and wood pulp. Orangeburg is rated to last for only 30 years. If your home was built in this timeframe, you could be at risk for sewer failure. It is no longer used in construction for this reason. Utah Pipebursting can replace your Orangeburg with new HDPE pipe that will not break or be compromised by tree roots.
How long does trenchless pipe replacement take?
We can come out to your house within a few hours to assess your needs. We will then provide you with a bid at that time. At that point, we can schedule the replacement within a few days. The actual replacement only takes 5 to 8 hours.
What experience dooes Utah Pipebursting have?
I’ve been doing trenchless pipebursting projects in Utah since 2001. In that time I have completed over six hundred sewer lateral and sewer main replacements for both residential and commercial properties. I’ve worked in the sewer and trenchless industries since 1993 and in the construction trades for over 30 years.
Since your sewer lines can be expensive to replace or repair, it is important that your contractor is experienced. Many utilities are buried in the road, park strip, under sidewalks, and even on your property. Expensive mistakes should not be made on your property, and at the expense of your landscaping. Utah Pipebursting has years of experience and can guarantee that your job will be done correctly.
Is trenchless pipe replacement affordable?
Yes! The pipe replacement process is so quick that you are not paying for the labor costs of digging and filling the trench commonly used in traditional pipe replacement. The equipment used does not require special transportation. This means we can charge less money for a fast and permanent repair.
Is trenchless pipe repair dangerous?
No. There is no risk to you. You do need an experienced and qualified professional since many utilities lines are buried in the road, park strip, under sidewalks, and even on your property. Your landscaping should not have to pay for these kinds of mistakes. Utah Pipebursting has years of experience and can guarantee that your job will be done right the first time.
What kind of pipes can be replaced with trenchless pipe replacement?
We specialize in residential and commercial sewer line replacements, but we have done many other kinds of projects as well.
Can Utah Pipebursting work with insurance companies?
Yes! We do it all the time. We have no problems working with any of the insurance companies, and work hard to maintain the highest level of service we possibly can.
